However, magistrate Mr Milton Serima asked the couple to look into each other’s eyes and resolve the issues affecting them. Dapi had told the court that she feared for her life after her husband threatened to kill or maim her. She however, stared into her husband’s eyes telling him that she wanted him to look after her and stop the verbal and physical abuse.
“We have been together for 25 years and I also want you to go and pay lobola to my parents,” Dapi said.
Chamisa said he wanted to stay peacefully with his wife.
“My wife is very emotional that’s why we are here today, maybe its high blood pressure that she has. Let us go back and stay peacefully,” he said remorsefully.
Magistrate Serima advised the two to engage their relatives and discuss issues affecting them.
“I deliberately ordered you to talk to each other because I realised that you cannot just bring each other here over dried meat.”
Chamisa was ordered to observe peace towards Dapi and not to verbally or physically abuse her.
