Dry weekend for Harare

HARARE residents should brace for another dry weekend as council is shutting down its main water treatment plant, Morton Jaffray, to allow for rehabilitation works.

In a statement, Acting Town Clerk Engineer Phakamile Moyo, said the plant would be completely shut down from today up to Sunday.

“The City of Harare would like to advise our valued residents, and stakeholders, that there shall be a planned shutdown of a pump station at Morton Jaffray’s Water Works on Thursday 21 to Sunday 24,” Eng Moyo said.

“During this period, the city will also be attending two lines servicing Marimba and Lochinvar reservoirs.

“Affected areas include Mufakose, Kuwadzana, Glen View and Glen Norah, parts of Willowvale, Budiriro and surrounding areas, residents in the affected areas are encouraged to use water sparingly during this period.”
