DStv Rangers to miss Madzokera

DSTV Rangers will miss the services of influential centre back Byron Madzokere, who is suspended after accumulating three yellow cards when they face Zatex at Old Hararians on Saturday.

The former Gunners man has been a key figure for DStv, who were the biggest winners in Northern Region Division One league last weekend when they dismissed Blue Jets 0-4.

Zatex are on a revival path after winning only two games in 13 matches, which left them second from the bottom of the 18-team league.

The Chinhoyi-based side managed to beat Starbill 2-0 a fortnight ago before dismissing ZRP Morris 1-0 at the weekend.

DStv coach Newton Chitewe said they will miss the services of the player as he was playing well and established himself in the team.

“We will miss Madzokere as he was playing well and the back four had established. That will have an impact on us but not that very much as we have registered 30 players who are all capable of doing duty.

“Byron had picked form and the suspension may affect his rhythm when he returns but as a team we have depth as well,” Chitewe said.

Chitewe is also cautious of his opponent Zatex who have two wins to their credit and four draws in the 13 games played so far.

“We need to be cautious, they have been playing well and they managed to win their past two games, so we will be extra cautious’’.

Other week 14 suspensions

Innocent Mavhirizhi (Mushowani), Clifford Sakala (ZRPFC), Petros Titus (Ngezi Platinum), Peter Chota ( Herentals), Tavengwa Mangasi (Darwin United), Ramson Zhuwawo (Gunners), Sabastain Tuboyi (Blue Swallows).
