Dub poet Tanyaradzwa Todini also known as Sister Fya or Zion Dawta  died last week Friday after succumbing to Tuberculosis.
She was 29.In an interview, her fiancée Matthew Zengeni said her death is a great loss to the family and the arts sector.

“Tanyaradzwa’s death has been a blow to me and the family as well as the arts industry although she had battling Tuberculosis for some months now,” he said.

Zengeni said lack of money has delayed her burial and are seeking for assistance.

She is survived by her 6 year-old son and mourners are gathered at her rural home in Kadoma.

Meanwhile, Basement Night Club owner Christine Mukore said they are having a show this Saturday that is meant to raise the money.

“Sister Fya was a regular performer here and to pay our last respect to her we are going to have a show this Saturday at the Basement to meet the expenses of her funeral.

“I am encouraging all Rastafarians to come in their numbers and bid farewell to their colleague,” she said.

Apart from doing poetry Sister Fya was also a craft designer, a socialite and was prominent at Sisterz Open Mic that is held every week at the Book Cafe.
