DUBAI-BASED businessman, Kudzai Chirima, says young local artists deserve the same attention and support which is given to their established counterparts after signing contracts with three emerging musicians worth US$20 000.
Chirima, who co-owns RealNass Productions with Byron Besa and Nyasha Makande, has engaged the services of three young local chanters on a six-month recording contract.
The contracts, worth US$20 000, were signed between RealNass Jah Master, Khonangale and Tinashe T Flexx in Harare last week.
Chirima told H-Metro that they wanted to do something special with Jah Master, and then decided to include the two other artists.
“We are greatly humbled, delighted and proud to announce the signing of Jah Master to our stable Realnass Productions.
“With his pedigree and a vast wealth of experience, we believe this is only but just the continuation of greatness and success for Jah Master and RealNass Production at Large,” said Chirima.
He believes RealNass has what it takes to take Jah Master to greater heights.
“It has always been my desire to uplift young talent and we have decided to collaborate with Jah Master since he has been phenomenal,” he said.
Jah Master’s handler, Elton Njeru, said the contract will propel the chanter to greater heights.
“It’s been a good year for Jah Master and the endorsement shows that people are appreciating his efforts.
“RealNass has come at a time when we are planning on releasing new music and we hope the relationship grows beyond the six months period,” said Njeru.
Since the beginning of the year, Jah Master has had some endorsements, including a car gift from businessman Wicknell Chivayo.
The musician is doing well with his songs, including Skangazile, Thank You Lord and Can’t Let Go.
For Khonangale and Tinashe T Flexx, RealNass hopes to use its influence to unveil these gems by featuring them on a number of collaborations and help them record EPs.
