ZIFA Midlands will tomorrow hold its awards ceremony where it will honour clubs which did well in the just ended season and got promoted into the Zifa Central Soccer League. In Division 2A league Gweru City will be honoured for winning the league earning the sole ticket into the Division One league while Gweru United who came second will also walk away with a prize for their efforts.
In the other leagues Gokwe based, Chomumvuri Pirates who won the Division 2B league and Nkayi United who were runners up will also be rewarded for their sterling efforts.
Zifa president, Cuthbert Dube is expected to officiate at the awards and is also bankrolling the awards.
Zifa Midlands secretary, Pervious Mathe confirmed gave a breakdown of prizes which will be given to the clubs.
“We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our awards presentation ceremony at the Gweru Show Grounds. Zifa president, Cuthbert Dube will officiate at the ceremony and we are very much indebted to him for sponsoring our awards,” he said.
Mathe added that another sponsor had also chipped in to sponsor the Golden Boot award for the top goal scorers in both leagues.
Phumulani Ncube of Gweru City will walk away with the award in Division 2A after helping his side gain promotion with a 20 goal haul.
