were jointly charged for assault and resisting arrest when they appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Toindepi Zhou.
They denied the charges.
Mr Zhou remanded the two on US$20 bail and they are expected back in court on May 16.
Allegations against them arose on May 12 when twin brothers Constable Tendai and Farai Katonha (27) employed as police officers stationed at Chitungwiza Police Station were on patrol with their counterpart Cst Dendere in Unit K, L and M.
When the policemen arrived at Unit L Shopping Centre, they arrested Givemore for public drinking.
The court heard that when Cst Tendai tried to cuff him, he allegedly started assaulting him with blows before head butting him.
Shingirai joined the fight and went on to punch the helpless officer, inciting the mob to join in the assault.
This prompted the other two officers to fire warning shots into the air to disperse the crowd and they managed to arrest the two.
