YOUNG and talented Mutare-born Dynamos player, Tichaona Mabvura, has put behind the pains of being dropped from the Glamour Boys list of registered players and has since engaged businessman James Lunga Meya as his manager in an effort to secure a move to South Africa.
Wasu, as Mabvura is adoringly referred to by DeMbare supporters, featured in Dynamos colours since 2011, but was dropped by the David “Yogi” Mandigora-led technical department upon the arrival of Ronald Chitiyo at the start of the ongoing Premiership season.
The youthful midfielder has been part of Calisto Pasuwa’s record four-time title-winning Dynamos.
But the former Zamba Primary, Sakubva High and Mutare Boys’ High student this week told Post Sport that he was looking into the future with confidence that he would make an impact elsewhere.
The 23-year-old said playing for DeMbare was a great experience.
“It was painful to be dropped on the last minute when you have been receiving promises of more time.
“It puts one’s plans astray, but I am happy that I have quickly realised that when one door closes another one opens.
“I have engaged James Lunga Meya, who is now helping me in getting a club that could suit my talents.
“I have confidence that I will soon make it.
“I do not think getting a South African club will be a bad move at all.
“After all, it was such a great experience to play for Dynamos and I will always cherish it.
“In fact, it is one club that one will not hesitate to return to if need be,” said Mabvura, who is now waiting for clearance from DeMbare.
The development means Mabvura joins the growing list of players from Mutare that the South African-based entrepreneur is helping out to develop their careers.
Apart from making efforts to secure clubs South of the Limpopo, Meya is sponsoring a good number of individual players in the eastern border city.
Contacted for comment, South African-based Meya confirmed that he was in constant contact with the player.
“Yes, I am always communicating with the player.
“In fact, I will be managing his affairs and we are working flat out that he comes here and finds a new home here in South Africa.
“On my part, I have already negotiated with a number of agents and clubs who are willing to take the player on board.
“I have no doubt that he is a good player who will be able to make instant impact in the ABSA Premiership if given a chance.
“The good thing is that the league season is towards its end and that will give the youngster more time to acclimatise. By the time the new season begins he should be used to the conditions and systems here,” said Meya.
