DZ Tavern to hold more shows

Arts Reporter
Outdoor entertainment spot DZ Traveller Tarven is set to hold more live shows to cater for music lovers in the area. The joint is now under new management and geared to enhance its competitive edge among watering holes of choice in the capital. Run by veterans who cut their beerhall management teeth in the now defunct Harare Rufaro Marketing, Tapiwa Manomano and Taisi Munjeri, the tarven is set to undergo profound renovations.

“We are in the process of building a big shade so that we can accommodate patrons and musicians without fearing the vagaries of weather like rain and the sun. We also have a good working relationship with police in the area, making crowd control and safety major priorities.” Manomano said the Tarven had also started promoting local music stars, with Didi “Boorangoma”Katanda who previously worked with R&K Sounds, having benefited under the programme.

“Already Katanda has staged shows at the Tarven where we are also promoting pool tournaments to provide a variety of entertainment packages for the local community.” A Delta Beverages-initiated pool tournament has since been held at DZ Tarven with chances that more such events will take place at the tavern for the benefit of the local community.
