E-learning launched

Education services provider E-learning Solutions has launched an interactive mobile learning platform that enables students to learn on the go. E-learning Solutions have found their way onto the mobile phone following the launch of the mobile learning platform dubbed ‘m-learning’. M-learning is an e-learning intervention that gives students and teachers access to their courses and educational content on mobile devices such as tablets and smart phones, and works with a variety of operating systems such as windows and android among others. Speaking at the official launch of the product, E-learning Solutions chief executive officer Itai Masimirembwa said mobile learning will bring convenience for the learner, the teacher and the content publisher.

“The key word about the m-learning solution is convenience. Learners should be able to learn where they want and the instructor should be able to deliver content in the most convenient way and so does the author,” said Masimirembwa.

Guest of honour at the launch ceremony, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Lazarus Dokora, commended E-learning Solutions for their innovation, highlighting that Zimbabwe has an opportunity to set the benchmark in e-learning strategies as it is already a pace-setter among third world countries by having the highest literacy rate in Africa.

The E-learning solution is based on three software devices namely the m-curriculum that will be installed on the student’s device or can be acquired as fully installed tablet, the m-instructor that will be installed on the teachers’ device and the m-author that enables real time publishing and updating of books by the publisher. – CL Reporter.
