CHILDREN in Bulawayo are set to have an Easter to remember as event curators, Nova Inflatables are organising an Easter Carnival.

The first-of-its-kind event is set to run from Friday to Monday at the Bulawayo City Hall Car Park. While others will be eating Easter eggs and singing songs, Nova Inflatables will be setting up their inflatable Luna Park for the enjoyment of the young.

Nova Inflatables spokesperson Progress Moyo said members of the public will be spoilt for choice.

“The Easter Carnival will be a fun-filled weekend where people will have fun for four days. Festivities will include jumping castles, trampoline, quadbikes, kids’ cars, and inflatable swimming pools. To complement all of that will be dance competitions with lots of prizes to be won.

“This is just a continuation of the festive mood after the last gig we had over the Christmas period,” said Moyo.

The Easter Carnival is set to be an annual fixture to complement activities in Bulawayo’s showbiz calendar.

At the helm of the carnival will be arts practitioner Greatjoy Hlats (real name Greatjoy Hlatshwayo) who will be serenading the children and directing traffic.

Hlatshwayo, who has appeared in different music videos, films and theatre productions expressed excitement at working with children.

“As a creative, I understand the idea of being multi-faceted to cater to different audiences. Directing events during the carnival will give me a chance to showcase my talent. Children are the cutest beings one can ever work with and it brings me great joy to be working with them. I’m raring to go,” he said.

Besides the adrenaline-pumping and high-octane activities lined up for the children, DJ Marcus Andro, Alamento The Dancer and Sydney The Clown will be on hand to make the experience memorable.

In the past, Nova Inflatables has brought unbridled joy in the faces of children and has made it a point to cast its net wider to reach different provinces and cities. — @MbuleloMpofu
