God changes narratives

Pauline Matanda

“WHEN the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them in that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, the Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him”. — Psalms 126:1-6

From the scriptures, the Psalmist is rejoicing as he is sharing how God changed their story unexpectedly. Yes, when God turned their captivity, they thought they were dreaming, not knowing it was real. They never imagined themselves out of captivity, but God changed their story unawares.

The same way God changed the Israelites’ story is the same way He can change yours.

He is preparing to wipe your tears and turn your mourning into dancing. God is changing your narrative suddenly by faith.

You just need to believe, for we walk not by sight but by faith. Soon, you will be affirming Psalms 103: “Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not His benefits.”
