LEADING diversified telecommunications group, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has declared an interim dividend of US$7 million (0.26 US cents) per share for the quarter ended May 31, 2024.

In an interim dividend notice, the country’s leading mobile network operator said the dividend will be payable on or about the 10th of next month to all shareholders registered as at the close of business on July 5, 2024.

“Notice is hereby given that the board declared an interim dividend of US$7 million (US0,26 cents per share) for the quarter ended May 31, 2024 payable in respect of all the qualifying ordinary shares of the company.

“Disbursements to foreign shareholders are subject to Exchange Control regulations and payment guidelines for foreign remittances,” said Econet.

In an effort to provide an expedient and convenient service, the company will provide an option to pay dividends through EcoCash to shareholders.

Non-corporate shareholders are encouraged to provide their EcoCash details to the firm’s transfer secretaries in Harare.

Meanwhile, Econet has said it remains committed to completing current network modernisation initiatives, which will transform network performance, expand coverage, and increase capacity to support changing customer demands for data-intensive applications.

The Group has vowed to leverage new technologies to enhance the potential for better financial performance through improved customer experience and lower costs.

The company said after the successful settlement of debentures in September 2023, the exchange loss exposure was significantly reduced, and this should improve the business performance going forward.
