Economic focus endears Zanu-PF to people

THE political schemes which have emerged before, during and which will emerge in the post Zanu-PF Youth League  Conference and the Women’s League Conference makes a lot of interesting reading.
The people’s party, Zanu-PF, humiliated the regime change architects, the British and their acolytes, the American in the historic July 31, 2013 harmonised elections when it floored its stooge, Mr Morgan Tsvangirai, leaving him pondering his next maneuver in the cut-throat game of politics.

That Zanu-PF has endeared itself with the masses given it spot on, a comprehensive election manifesto which identified with the people’s expectations and aspirations.

Zanu-PF thrives on diversity, a trait which has provided it with the competitive edge against any political opponents.
Yes in that diversity, individuals might develop different tastes which are not contrary to the general direction of the revolution, which then ushers one into the so-called factions said to be eating into the core of the party’s fabric.

Did anyone tell the excited that factions by their nature are a natural phenomenon depicting diversity?
Factions by their nature have never been destructive.

Even in our own homes, our own children think differently and act differently all in pursuit of purity.
Can that be considered erroneous? Certainly not!

While tastes of people within the revolutionary party differ as we approach the elective congress in December, it is the manner in which the expression of one’s individual taste which is of paramount importance to the party, Zanu-PF.

That some leaders whose appetite for political power has led them to engage in unorthodox means which boarder on outright criminality such as the alleged abductions and kidnapping has no place in the revolutionary party’s illustrious history.

If there are any cadres who engaged in such unscrupulous activities to attain political mileage, they should be flushed out and exposed for the cheats that they are.

President Mugabe had no kind words for such malcontents as he labeled them political prostitutes in his closing remarks for the Youth League.

Such strong words coming from the iconic statesman should sound alarm bells to those with such flawed characters.
The party of liberation, Zanu-PF, should never lose sight of the ball, in this case the economy which is on the mend.

Admittedly, changing the economic fortunes of the country after more than a decade of sustained economic sanctions imposed by the British at the behest of their local surrogates, the various MDCs formations, will never be a stroll in the park.

It is, however, a fact that Zanu-PF has started in its unimpeded reign after the natural death of the Inclusive Government with various projects whose impact to the economic landscape of the country will be incredible.

Among a host of projects which are bound to have positive ripple effects to the economy include the various electricity generation schemes, the Chisumbanje ethanol project, road rehabilitations which continue to gather momentum, co-operative ventures and the revitalisation and creation of new irrigation schemes to thwart the ever growing menace of hunger due to unavoidable climatic changes.

Certainly, these initiatives will change the face of the economy. This is where the focus should be.
Zanu-PF strategists must continue to think outside the box in a bid to create an economic platform where all Zimbabweans irrespective of colour, political inclinations, race or creed, must derive a livelihood.

With an abundance of natural resources at the nation’s disposal, the economic dreams of all Zimbabweans must be met.
This is what the people want and fortunately Zanu-PF has the capacity to deliver given its history and being the shoulder upon which the poor and down-trodden can lean.

Elections are events which should be undertaken in fulfillment of the party’s constitutional obligations given the pervasive democratic culture in the organisation.

They should be held and the chosen leaders be given the opportunity to pursue their preferred policies.
Zanu-PF would be shooting itself in the foot if it is to let its membership and organs remain fixated in election mode.

That can only be retrogressive to the party and the nation at large.
Those who are alleged to have used money in the election of the Youth League leadership and those being fingered in any shenanigans in the election of leaders of the Women’s League should face disciplinary action in accordance with the party’s constitution.

As President Mugabe has always emphasized, people should vote for leaders of their own choice freely, those that are willing to offer their service to the party and the nation.

Any inducement by aspiring leaders should be condemned for it compromises the integrity and image of the party.
Zanu-PF’s vision as enunciated in its various literatures is an embodiment of the nation’s history.

The party vision also recognizes the need to create an enabling environment to create wealth for the present generation and the revolutionary party recognises the need to safeguard these gains and exploring new economic opportunities for posterity.

The party recognises that Zimbabwe is the only safe habitat for Zimbabwe hence all the energy should be applied to protect its wealth for its citizens.

May God continue to bless this great country, Zimbabwe?
