Murphy (51) is in dire need of a hit after his most recent Hollywood films flopped at the box office.
Apart from voicing the hugely successful “Shrek” movies, Murphy has not appeared in a hit film since 2006 when he was nominated for an Oscar for “Dreamgirls”.
His most recent effort, “A Thousand Words”, bombed at the box office for making less than half of the US$40 millio it cost to produce.
Murphy is acting as executive producer of the “Beverly Hills Cop” TV series which will be screened later this year. — Daily Mail.
