IN yesterday’s newspaper, we reported how a two-year-old adulterous relationship between an immigration officer and a police officer’s wife exploded into the open after the boyfriend, somehow, decided to reveal the affair to his girlfriend’s husband.
Nhlanganisi Sibanda, the immigration officer who is based at Beitbridge Border Post, has been dating Tafadzwa Sigauke, who is the wife of a police officer, since 2023.
He revealed their affair to Tafadzwa’s husband after she decided to end their romantic relationship and refused to give him back the laptop he had bought for her.
Their romance remained a secret for two years until Tafadzwa decided to end the affair.
Sibanda then demanded his laptop back and Tafadzwa rejected those demands.
The immigration officer retaliated by disclosing his love affair with Tafadzwa to her husband.
Tafadzwa told H-Metro she was shocked by Sibanda’s move.
She said this showed her that Sibanda was “too childish.”
She revealed that they met in Gwanda and he proposed love to her and she eventually accepted his proposal even though she was a married woman.
She even told us that when Sibanda bought her new laptop as a gift, she devised a plan to lie to her husband that she had bought it.
At some point, Tafadzwa said she felt guilty and decided to end the relationship after Sibanda kept pestering her with requests for sexual intercourse.
That was when her troubles started when her lover, in a bizarre move, decided to tell her husband that they had been having an adulterous affair.
Tafadzwa is part of the problem.
She is a shameless woman who decided to cheat on her husband with a lover in a relationship that went on for a few years.
She appears not to see the shame in her conduct and chooses to criticise Sibanda for his decision to disclose their affair to her husband.
She doesn’t deserve to be in marriage because this has shown that she is a woman of loose morales.
The reality is that there will be many others, like Sibanda, who will be ready to propose to her and there are no guarantees that she will turn down that proposal as a show of respect to her husband.
She never considered her husband in her shameful acts and, in even in her hour of being exposed, she doesn’t appear to be ashamed of what she was doing.
For her to boast that she will not give Sibanda the laptop he bought for her is shocking because we can’t understand how her husband will accept to keep it in their home.
We are not saying that Sibanda is a saint.
He is as guilty as Tafadzwa because he knew that she was married but still decided to plunge into this relationship of shame.
He is also a foolish man because wise men don’t do what he did, including calling her lover’s husband to try and expose her.
