Dynamos……………(1) 2
Bulawayo Chiefs……….0
DYNAMOS coach Tonderai Ndiraya says yesterday’s victory over Bulawayo Chiefs was yet another bold sign the Glamour Boys are easing out of their nightmarish run.
He still wants his men to win all their remaining matches and see where it will take them in the Castle Lager Premiership race.
Trevor Mavhunga and Evans Katema were on target.
The dreadlocked Katema scored for the first time this season from a spot kick.
“I’m happy with the win. I think that’s what is important now,” said Ndiraya.
“I said it before that we are in a recovery process from a difficult phase and I’m happy that we are coming out of the phase.
“If we get three wins in a row, then I will safely say we are out of the phase.
“I really wanted us to replicate the performance we put up against Chicken Inn but I didn’t get that today from the team.
“But, all the same, I thought they put in a very good shift, playing a team with no pressure at all.”
He said they did their research and knew how the Chiefs would approach the game.
“They played well and, especially after the introduction of Perfect (Chikwende) and Elvis (Moyo).
“I thought they looked more composed and you could see that they had better quality on the ball than us. We were just waiting to hit them and we did that through the penalty.
“It was a very good match even though we were not ourselves in the first half, but we slowly came back into it.
“I’m happy we are marching on after the difficult times we’ve been going through.”
Dynamos have been struggling with scoring this season. Ndiraya says there’s still work to be done with the strikeforce despite scoring five in their last two games.
“We will continue to work on our faults and I’m glad that Evans scored the penalty after enduring a difficult dry spell.
“We will continue to work with the forwards so that they become more clinical because there are so many other chances that we failed to put away today,” Chiefs coach, Nilton Terosso, said his team competed well.
“I think we played well and congratulations to Dynamos. That’s all I have to say.
“I don’t have an opinion on anything else,” Terosso said.
The Glamour Boys are now level on points with Chicken Inn in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
