adminTHE nation remembers when the Belgians sweated to engage Zimbabwe over the possibility of having its diamonds auctioned in Antwerp, a scenario which would indeed benefit the two countries.
There was always the Dubai route and Indian option which all stood ready to work with the Zimbabweans. Given the frantic efforts and the high-powered delegations which they dispatched to Harare, even the worst of sceptics would not have imagined the sudden U-turn which that country will pursue in collaboration with hostile nations, to deprive Zimbabweans of the cash which the Government critically needs given the liquidity crunch which has strangulated the economy.
It can only smack of evil intentions for the Belgians to pretend to watch as the former white farmers use their territory to settle their scores with Harare. It amazes observers how these white folks all of a sudden claim to have any portion of land in Africa, in particular Zimbabwe, as their own.
These former colonisers who are guilty of murder, rape and unmitigated plunder of the vast minerals Zimbabwe is endowed with continue to strangle and intimidate the whole nation, in a bid to cow the brave Zimbabweans into submission.
Of course, the Belgians are part of Europe; hence they are simply proving to the whole world that the interest of their European citizens who once colonised Zimbabwe is more important and superior to Zimbabweans and ultimately Africans.
Surely nothing could be further from the truth. Where was the rule of law when Africans were subjugated and treated as lesser beings, with slave trade being used as a tool to humiliate Africans?
Europeans, Belgians included, want Africans to believe that history only began when the heroic people of Zimbabwe reclaimed what rightfully belonged to them, the coveted land. What sheer hypocrisy and stupidity which defies human and decent logic! Europeans should tell the whole world about the looting and plunder which they did in Zimbabwe and the whole of Africa their modus operandi for reparations which are overdue.
One political commentator suggested that the whole of Europe and America whose regime change project in Zimbabwe has fallen apart are in awe over the mega economic deals which Zimbabwe has agreed and is implementing with its all-weather friends, China and Russia.
President Mugabe agreed seven mega economic deals with the mighty Chinese establishment and also oversaw the ground-breaking ceremony of the US$3 billion Darwendale platinum project.
The Europeans and the American establishments cannot fathom these new developments which have taken them by surprise.
Their engagements have been to clandestinely cause disharmony and chaos in the country by funding numerous non-governmental organisations whose activities are inimical to the nation.
