EFF: Give back the land

JOHANNESBURG. — The greatest heritage of South Africans is their land, and thus historical dispossession needs to be made right, the EFF said last Wednesday.
“Until land is returned, all else stands . . . in flux and can be misappropriated,” said Economic Freedom Fighters spokesman Mbuyiseni Quintin Ndlozi in a statement.

“The greatest heritage of any people is the land . . . Without land, a people remain visitors in their own country of birth. Without land, all culture and art is vulnerable to extinction, doom and waste.”

Ndlozi said that it was in this context that his party called for the equal redistribution of land through expropriation without compensation.
The EFF also made a call for Nama — the language traditionally used by Khoi and San people — to be included as an official language in South Africa.

“The languages of the native populations remain excluded and marginalised in the educational development and enrichment of our people.”
Ndlozi said that in particular scientific and technological information should be available in all languages to enhance their accessibility.
