EMIRATES has hosted nine leading Zimbabwean travel professionals on a four-day familiarisation visit to Dubai as part of efforts to strengthen tourism and business travel links between Zimbabwe, Dubai and destinations across the airline’s global network.

The programme was designed to give travel trade partners first-hand experience of Dubai and Emirates’ products and services, enabling them to develop more competitive leisure, family, luxury and stopover packages for Zimbabwean travellers.

Dubai remains a popular destination among Zimbabwean travellers, with Emirates carrying more than 20 000 passengers on the Harare-Dubai route between April 2025 and March 2026.

During the familiarisation tour, the travel professionals explored Dubai’s diverse tourism offering, visiting heritage attractions such as the Dubai Gold District and Dubai Creek, as well as modern landmarks including the Museum of the Future, Dubai Marina and Burj Khalifa.

Upon their return to Zimbabwe, Emirates country manager for Zimbabwe Omar Bushlaibi hosted a dedicated workshop for the participating travel agents in Harare.

The workshop provided updates on Emirates’ global network, products and services, as well as tourism opportunities available through Dubai.

“Zimbabwe is an important market for Emirates, and our travel trade partners are central to our success. By giving travel professionals direct experience of our products and of Dubai as a destination, we are equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to develop more compelling travel options for their customers,” said Bushlaibi.

“Our commitment to Zimbabwe extends beyond providing world-class connectivity and an outstanding product. We are focused on building lasting partnerships, supporting the local travel industry and creating opportunities that contribute to the growth of tourism between Zimbabwe, Dubai and our global network.”

Emirates operates daily services from Harare to Dubai via Lusaka, connecting Zimbabwean travellers to destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, the Americas and beyond.

The airline said strengthening the knowledge and capabilities of travel partners would help stimulate demand, deepen economic and cultural links and support the growth of tourism between Zimbabwe, Dubai and destinations across its global network.
