THREE farm workers allegedly stole their employer’s property worth US$23 000. Anthony Muyambo (36), Lector Sibanda (20) and Ignatius Ndlovu (26), all of Mystery Farm in Vumba denied the charges when they appeared before senior Mutare magistrate, Mrs Sekai Chiundura last week.

They were being charged with theft as defined in Section 113 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23.

Mr Fletcher Karombe prosecuted. The trio was remanded in custody to October 11.

The State alleged that sometime this year, the suspects stole timber logs, blankets, plates, cups and commercial export garden flowers from their employer and disappeared from the farm. A house maid informed the owner of the property, Mr Clayton Zimunya that the farm workers had stolen his property and disappeared. A police report was made leading to a manhunt. The suspects were later arrested in Mutare’s CBD and only property worth $70 was recovered.
