AS Manicaland commemorates Heroes Day today, youths in the province have been urged to remain connected to the history of Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle and cherish the gains brought about by the heroes’ sacrifices.
Zanu PF Manicaland provincial chairman Cde Mike Madiro said as the future leaders, young people must stand guided by the nation’s founding principles and defend the country’s sovereignty which the liberation war heroes tirelessly fought with some paying the price with their lives.
He called on the young generation to safeguard the interests of the country and remain united against the country’s detractors.
Focused and disciplined youths can meaningfully contribute to the country’s national development and economic growth, Cde Madiro added.
He urged them to emulate the sterling work being done by the Second Republic under President Mnangagwa’s leadership as the country moves towards an upper middle income economy by 2030.
