‘ENOUGH WITH THE HATE!’, Hunk slams industry bullies, calls for unity in modelling

ZIMBABWE’S runway king and international heartthrob Future Nyoni has slammed the toxic energy that’s creeping through the modelling industry, calling on fellow models to “cut the hate” and start building each other instead of tearing each other down.

The Best Male Model winner at the prestigious Victorian Awards is not here for the petty cliques, backstage snubs and shady social media shots that have marred the glitz and glam of modelling.

“Sadly, I’ve noticed too much hate among models — belittling, mockery, and downplaying others,” said Nyoni in an exclusive interview.

“It doesn’t have to be that way. Let’s uplift and support each other instead of magnifying each other’s flaws.”

From the breathtaking landscapes of Victoria Falls, Future’s star has risen to continental heights — but he’s not keeping the shine to himself.

“As Africans, as Zimbabweans, we need to stand behind our models. That’s how we take the industry forward,” said the Mister Africa International First Runner-Up (2023/ 24).

Carrying the banner of #TogetherWeCan, the dashing father, philanthropist and model says his mission is bigger than strutting the runway — it’s about legacy, mentorship, and unity.

With his roots in Hwange, where he was discovered by former Miss Zimbabwe Samantha Tshuma back in 2017, Nyoni has carved out a fierce modelling résumé that includes titles like Mister Southern Africa International, Heart of Africa, and now Victorian Awards Best Male Model.

“It’s such an honour to be recognised among the best, not just in Vic Falls, but across the country. I’m humbled, and inspired to do more — not just for myself, but for the young people watching me,” he said.

His supporters — who’ve followed his every step from Hwange to Mister Africa’s international stage — are a key part of his journey.

“Modelling is my passion; it flows naturally and effortlessly. And as a role model, I’m driven to show young people that they can dream big and make it,” he said.

But the journey hasn’t been all lights and roses.

Behind the flashing cameras and perfect poses, the industry has its dark corners — from bitter envy to unspoken rivalries.

And Future Nyoni isn’t afraid to call it out.

“Let’s replace hate with collaboration. That’s how we grow.”

To all the rising models eyeing his footsteps, Nyoni’s advice is pure gold:

“Believe in yourself. The power to succeed is already within you. Keep it positive and stay focused.”

With his feet firmly on the runway and his eyes on a united African modelling scene, Future Nyoni is more than a model — he’s a movement.

And as the hate fades and the lights shine brighter, Future is emerging as the future of Zimbabwean modelling.
