A SHOCKING tale of family violence has rocked Emakhandeni suburb after a mother and son tag-team were dragged to court for brutally assaulting a close relative — leaving him unconscious and needing hospitalisation!

Jessie Dauson (40) and her son Tsepo Mkwebu (20) appeared before Magistrate Archie Wochiwunga facing one count each of physical abuse after allegedly ganging up to beat up Jessie’s older brother, Thomas Phiri.

The duo didn’t enter a plea and the case was remanded to 28 April 2025 for trial.

According to court papers, the drama unfolded one evening in March, just after 6PM, when Thomas arrived home and was about to open the gate. Out of nowhere, Tsepo allegedly struck him with a brick on the right eye, causing him to collapse.

While the uncle lay helpless on the ground, Jessie reportedly joined in, delivering booted kicks to her brother’s body.

The vicious attack left Phiri unconscious, and in a moment of panic, the accused pair reportedly rushed to get him hospitalised — but it was too late to cover up their tracks. A police report was filed, and the duo was arrested soon after.

Only in B-Metro — where blood ties spill real blood!
