Envoy commends Zim education

foundation for future development.
Mr Xin was speaking at the Chinese Business Association launch of the Hope Project in Harare yesterday.

“Zimbabwe has a wonderful education system which has a good foundation for the young ones which ensures a brighter future,” he said.
Mr Xin said Zimbabwe’s economy is still struggling under the effects of sanctions and schools need assistance.

Handing over goods worth US$5 000 to Sunningdale 2 Primary School, Chinese Business Association chairman Mr Gou Faxin said all Chinese businesspeople in Zimbabwe are coming together to form an organisation that would assist schools.

He said the donation to Sunningdale 2 Primary School was the first and there would be more such donations.
“Sunningdale 2 Primary School is the first school which we have donated to and we are hoping that the Hope Project will continue to help more schools,” Mr Gou said.

Sunningdale 2 Primary School received exercise books, pencils, shoes, socks, tissues, sanitary pads and satchel bags.
He said the association would be assisting one or two schools every month with stationery and paying school fees while building additional classroom blocks where it is necessary.
In March this year, Zimbabwe and China signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate intellectual exchanges and joint research between the two countries.
