An Epworth man has appeared in court after on allegations of targeting and sexually abusing minor boys in his neighbourhood.
Allan Chitsike (50) was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare regional magistrate Donald Ndirowei, charged with two counts of aggravated indecent assault.
Prosecutors claimed that they have five more counts they are preparing to bring to court in the coming week.
The first complainant is aged seven. The court heard that on June 28, the boy went to Chitsike’s house to collect his money, ZiG$10 as payment for a scrap teapot which the accused had taken from the boy.
Chitsike allegedly invited the boy into his room, where he stripped and sexually abused the minor.
The matter came to light when the boy’s friend’s mother saw him leaving Chitsike’s house and interviewed him.
In the second instance, the court heard that another victim, who is also seven, was playing outside when Chitsike called him to his room.
Chitsike placed the boy on his bed and forced himself on him. After the act, Chitsike promised to give the complainant sadza.
Later that day, Chitsike called the boy and gave him sadza with vegetables. The boy revealed the matter to his father’s friend after hearing what had happened to his friend, Chitsike’s first victim. Ms Tambudzai Masamvi appeared for the State.
