“Every sip matters” – Turning up responsibly encouraged at Braai Fest

What a phenomenal atmosphere it is at the Glamis Arena in Harare as thousands have converged to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Castle Lager National Braai Day, a showcase of Zimbabwean culture, food, music, and unity.

But beyond the sizzling braai stands and the electrifying beats from some of the country’s finest acts, one message echoes louder than the music – enjoy responsibly.

Delta Corporation, the event’s sponsor, has placed responsible drinking at the heart of this year’s festivities. Through its Designated Driver Campaign, the company continues to champion smart drinking, reminding revellers that celebration and responsibility can, and must, go hand in hand.

Hydration points, awareness booths, and dedicated messaging stations are strategically placed across the venue.

Delta Corporation Corporate Affairs general manager Patricia Murambinda, who is among the thousands at the festival, emphasised the importance of mindfulness when consuming alcohol.
“Delta remains committed to promoting a culture of Smart Drinking –encouraging moderation, conscious choices, and responsible celebration. Every sip matters – and so does every life. We want people to enjoy themselves, but also to make choices that keep them and others safe,” she said.

As Zimbabweans come together to braai, bond, and unwind, the call is clear: turn up, have fun, but do it the smart way — because every sip truly matters.
