A FORMER teacher has built his own primary school.

Marvelous Mutsungi, 39, is a former Nemakonde school teacher.

Mutsungi, who is also a pastor, started the school in 2019 but some of his plans were derailed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

He told H-Metro his passion to build his own school started when he was studying at Belvedere Teachers College.

“It is one of the gifts we have in the family. Initially, I was teaching at a government school at Nemakonde and I felt the school to go and further my education.

“When I came back from university I did not go back to mainline schools and decided to be entrepreneurial by opening this primary school to help the community.

“We want learners who value Ubuntu in society, we don’t expect our students to be mischievous.”

He added:

“Apart from academics, we also infuse profound morals through Christianity. We are strongly behind the Government in terms of bringing about an educational industry which is functional.

“We are a system that backs our government and President in building the nation.”

He said apart from academics, the school also offers sporting activities such as soccer, volleyball, swimming and chess.

“ We also have other programmes where learners are taught how to dress and take care of themselves,” said Mutsungi.

Mutsungi is married to Lorraine Gora and the couple has four kids.

He ministers at the Favoured Family International Fellowship.
