LONDON. — Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has revealed the deal for Chelsea-bound Cesc Fabregas is “done”.
According to reports in Spain, Fabregas passed a medical at Chelsea and agreed personal terms ahead of the £26,8m switch from the Camp Nou.
Fabregas’ former club Arsenal rejected the chance to re-sign him, while Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United look set to miss out after showing interest in the Barcelona midfielder.
Pique claims Fabregas told him a deal is done, but refused to confirm the next destination of the 27-year-old.
“He (Fabregas) told me that it’s a done deal. He told me that now it’s done. He’s leaving. For €33m, he told me,” Pique said.
“I love Cesc so much, I know he’s having a difficult time because the club doesn’t value him as much as he deserves.” — BBC Sport.
