Family appeal for assistance amid ritual killing fears.

A BULAWAYO family has raised alarm after one a husband to one of their relatives alleged plotted to have her daughter murdered, body parts harvested for alleged ritual purposes.

Thunyeziwe Bhebhe’s family have accused her husband, Taurai Mutangadure, a known Zanu-PF member of plotting to sacrifice Bhebhe’s daughter so as to gain political favours.

Family members revealed that Bhebhe has been going through tones of abuse in the hands of Mutangadure since 2017 when the two met.”Bhebhe endured even marital rape and was intimidated by Mutangadure who threatened her with unknown action.

In January 2018 she escaped to South Africa to give birth.

She was however forced to come back to Zimbabwe after Mutangadure threatened to rape her daughter whom she had left behind.

“From then she continued to endure marital rape and beatings from her husband. She would confide to some of us, her relatives but she was afraid to leave him or report to the authorities because of Mutangadure’s links with the ruling party,” said a family member who declined to be named.

Regarding the threats to murder and harvest Bhebhe’s daughter’s body parts for ritual purposes, the family member revealed that Bhebhe had eavesdropped a conversation where Mutangadure was making the arrangements.

“It was fortunate that she heard that conversation because this could have happened behind her back and it was going to appear like a murder case by unknown assailants.

“When Mutangadure realised that Bhebhe now knew what was going on they started to threaten her with violence even threatened kill her. They made it clear that they were Zanu-PF and thus controlled the police and would deal with her if she reported the issue,” revealed the family member.

It is further reported that Bhebhe and her daughter’s had just disappeared and they were now not sure what happened to them.

“The reason we have since approached the media is because we are failing to locate them. We don’t know whether they were murder or are in hiding. The police have been clear that they are not willing to assist us as they claim we do not have any proof of our accusations hence e are appealing to anyone who might have information that could lead us to locating our daughter to assist us,” said the family member.
