REVEREND Ellison Kamupira, a renowned preacher and chaplain-general at Nyaradzo Funeral Services, passed away at a local clinic in Harare yesterday.

On various social media platforms, individuals from various walks of life expressed their condolences for the man they described as a firm believer in the therapeutic power of laughter.

In a statement yesterday, the Nyaradzo Group expressed its sorrow and described Reverend Kamupira’s life as a shining beacon.

“It is with a deep sense of loss, heartfelt affection and an unavoidable smile that we remember and celebrate the life of chaplain-general Kamupira, whose remarkable journey with us at Nyaradzo was marked not only by his profound impact, but also by his irresistible humour.

“Chaplain-general Kamupira almost single-handedly built the Nyaradzo brand from the ground up,” said Nyaradzo Group.

Reverend Kamupira became popular for his comical and comforting sermons to grieving families at the Nyaradzo Chapel in Harare.

The company added: “Beyond his official role, he was our informal therapist, always ready to lift the clouds with a sunny disposition. His commitment to his faith and community was delivered with a wink and a nudge, shepherding his flock with both empathy and light-hearted banter.”
