CONTEMPORARY rhumba artist, Farai “Juntal” Serima, has saluted his fans who raised US$300 for his medication and upkeep after he was involved in a traffic accident.
The ‘Mutupo’ hit-maker is recuperating at home after he had a close shave with death along Seke Road.
He sustained bruises, and head injuries, but is now on the mend.
“During my sickness, I discovered real and fake friends,” he said.
“I was surprised by one of the WhatsApp groups that I joined before the accident, where fellow members turned to be family as they raised almost US$300, to foot my medical bills.
“To be honest, I thought it was just an ordinary group where I could post my musical shows and new projects.
“The Rhumba legends WhatsApp group members like John Werrason, DJ Buzie and the entire team donated to help me and I felt loved and needed which gave me the strength to fight on and recover fully.”
The Chitungwiza-based entertainer said he was fit to resume shows.
“I am ready to be back on stage with my first show on Saturday at Bar Rouge, Long Cheng Plaza, Chop Chop Restaurant, Zindoga, on the 10th of June followed by the one in Mutoko, among others.
“I will be giving my best performance that will leave a mark.
“This accident made me realise that whenever I perform, I have to do it like it’s the last day of my life and deliver the best to my fans because I feel like I am back to life by God’s grace,” he said.
