Farmers donate to orphanage

Philemon Musonza who organised the farmers.

The maize was donated by 380 farmers in the area as an appreciation to the First Family that assisted them with farming inputs and implements.

Cde Mudarikwa said together with local councillors and herdsmen of Uzumba, he would deliver the maize to Amai Grace Mugabe’s children’s home in Mazowe soon.

“Our President facilitated schools, roads and clinics for this constituency. He has assisted us countless times, so the aim of this donation is to show gratitude as well as assist the First Lady who is helping orphaned children in the country,” he said.

Cde Mudarikwa said the donation was also an appreciation of the First Lady’s love of orphaned children in the country.

“Some of the children who have lost their parents to HIV and Aids are at that orphanage so I am glad the people of Uzumba are taking part in assisting these children,” he said.

Cde Musonza said the farmers contributed the maize at their own volition without anyone coercing them.
