Farvic FC, Horn Mine share spoils

ZIFA Matabeleland South Region league pace setters Farvic FC came from behind to share the spoils with log anchors Horn Mine at Freda Mine on Sunday.

The 1-1 draw took Farvic to 28 points, four ahead of second-placed The Venue, who did not play at the weekend. Farvic chairperson John Phiri said the game was different from other matches as Horn Mine caught them by surprise.

“If it wasn’t the stellar performance from our goalkeeper, we would have gone to half time trailing by three to four goals. Despite the fact that we are top of the log and they’re at the bottom, a draw was a fair result,” said Phiri.

Filabusi’s 1-0 win against Unicem saw them moving one place up the ladder into third ahead of Gwanda Delete, who lost to neighbours West Nicholson.

Relegation candidates Red Swallows and Jessie drew 1-1.
