Swiss Jet Aviation is set to host a fashion show at Holiday Inn on December 27 in honour of music legends Leonard Dembo and Michael Jackson. Speaking at a media briefing in the capital on Tuesday, the company’s operations manager, Honour Moyo, said they will display fashion designs that resemble Jackson’s outfits and Dembo’s trademark hats.

“We will be displaying Michael Jackson impersonations on that day and Dembo’s hats which used to be part of his trademark attire,” said Moyo.

He, however, said these outfits will not be for sale.

“We are not going to sell these outfits but this will be a platform to engage the corporate world and to unveil a new product,” he said.

Moyo said these two legends were great musicians who need to be remembered and honoured in many ways.

“Remember that Dembo’s  ‘Chitekete’ was once played at Miss World finals and that shows the musician was a legend. Michael Jackson was a great international musician who deserves honour,” he said.

He added that they are taking the event nationwide with the help of African Sun Hotels.

“It will not be for Harare people only but we will take it across the nation and it will be strictly for these two legends.

“We have a guy who will impersonate Jackson in music and dance,” said Moyo.

Present at the briefing was Dembo’s son Tendai who would be performing live at the event.

“It is a great honour indeed that there are some people
out there who still appreciate the work of our late father and we will stage energetic performances because  this is encouraging,” said Tendai.

“We were told that it is a national event and time
will not allow us to perform all our father’s songs but we will be selecting a few from his hits.”
