Fatal fall

A 77-year-old Chipinge man fell from an Avocado Tree while harvesting the fruits.
Asst Insp Kadzuraumera confirmed the incident which occurred on August 3 at around 7am at Makwaha Village under Mutema area.
“Charles Makaza (77) fell from an Avocado Tree and died on the spot while trying to harvest the fruits.
“Makaza went into his Avocado orchard intending to harvest fruits.

“He then climbed an Avocado Tree which is about 15m tall.
“Makaza fell down and died on the spot,” Assistant Insp Kadzuraumera said.

“On the same day at around 9am, Makaza’s wife, Jesca Makaza (67) noticed that her husband had taken too long to return and decided to make a follow-up.

“She found his body under an Avocado Tree. She made a report to the police who attended the scene.
“No foul play is suspected,” said Asst Insp Kadzuraumera.
