A MAKOKOBA man claims that his deceased fatheras spirit is haunting him because he failed to solve misunderstandings with him before he died.
Speaking to B-Metro, Trust Sibanda(42), said before his father died they had an argument and he never got the chance to apologise.
a?My father vowed that I would suffer in life. I regret not begging for forgiveness,a? said a visibly teary Trust.
Since his fatheras death life has been hard for him.
a?I was involved in a terrible accident a month ago which left me with broken legs. I also broke an arm, this happened a few months after my fatheras death. I believe this is a result of my fatheras angry spirit,a? said Trust.
Trust, who now fears his life might end soon, has opted to live outside his fatheras house. He stays just a few metres from the house in a filth-infested corner.
He believes this is the only way he can show his father how sorry he is and that maybe his fatheras angry spirit could spare his life.
a?I fear for my life and I believe I have to show God and my father how sorry I am. I pray that God hears and answers my prayers. I have to get well soon so I can go to my fatheras grave to seek for forgiveness and appease his spirit,a? said Trust.
Trust regrets being a stubborn child.
a?I thought I was all grown up and could make my own decisions. Whenever my father scolded me I would talk back and not listen to him. My father went to the extent of telling me never to set foot in his house and I never bothered to try and solve our differences,a? said Trust.
Trustas elder sister Soneni Sibanda said her father died an angry man and not only Trust was suffering because of being disobedient.
a?My brother Vusumuzi Sibanda who was also not on speaking terms with our late father is suffering because he disrespected the late old man. Vusumuzi tried to stay here by force last year in December after our fatheras funeral but he was struck by a mysterious illness. He has since left the house and I have never heard from him,a? she said.
Soneni said she took care of Trust although she feared going against her fatheras words.
a?By giving him the passage outside to sleep and stay on is a big a favour. Our father made it clear he never wants him and my brother to set their foot in this house,a? said Soneni.
When B-Metro tried to interview Trust Sibandaas other sister Ntombiyobutho Sibanda she said she was not willing to talk about their family matters to the public.
a?Who are you to intrude in our family matters, I am not discussing our family problems with you,a? she said.
