AMBITIOUS Chinhoyi- based Northern Region Soccer League outfit, Oden football club have reshuffled their technical department by recruiting the services of veteran coach, Partson Muzavazi.
Oden, who have five points from four games, parted ways with their former coach, Munyaradzi Charuza.
Former Agama coach Muzavazi has been tasked with turning around the fortunes of FC Oden whose only win came on Wednesday when they beat Golden Eagles 1-0 at Ellis Robins.
The surprise appointment was announced by the club’s Secretary General, Remiguis Muguti.
“Yes, we have a new coach named Partson Muzavazi, popularly known as coach Zawe.
“He will be assisted by Jonathan Kahonde,” said Muguti.
The veteran gaffer told H- Metro that he is bringing in different techniques to enhance the overall team performance.
“My appointment as a new coach has boosted moral, in the sense that I brought in new strategies and new training techniques
“You know a player wants to learn new things. So I think this boosted moral and the good sound of coaching, you earn the respect of the players.
“I am happy with the players and they willing to learn,” he said.
Muzavazi said he has connected well with the players and staff.
His aim is to bring a leadership style to motivate the players and create a cohesive team culture.
“The players are adapting to my style of coaching and how I want things done and be on the pitch,” said Muzavazi.
He is happy that his appointment is a morale boost to the players and the supporters as well.
Muzavazi praised the clubs board for its tactical decision to hire him.
“The board did something that Chinhoyi fans long waited for. So my appointment is a positive move for the fans.
“My expectations ony players is to perfect on roles and functions of each player as well as combination set up that should create a dynamic formidable side,” said Muzavazi.
He is now focusing on his next assignments.
“The game against Golden Eagles is over.
There are many more games to come. We need to focus on the next game,” he said.
Muzavazi boosts a CV that is pregnant with success having coached many teams in Zimbabwe and Botswana.
Notable teams he has coached include ZPC Kariba, Harare City, Zinwa, JMC Shamva, Starbill and Heresa Pearisa of Botswana where he spent three years with the team before relocating back home.
