NORMAN MAPEZA hailed the unity of purpose at FC Platinum after watching his charges record their tenth victory of the season at the expense of a battling Hwange at Mandava yesterday.
After a difficult start to the season Pure Platinum Play, who are now third on the log with 32 points from 18 matches, are firing from all cylinders and their coach says the good run is a result of team effort.
“I owe the success to unity among the players, executive, technical staff, in fact among everyone. We have been united hence the results.
“Everyone is working very hard and I am proud of the players. I am not speaking of the championship yet but I leave everything to God. Its only God who knows our destiny,’ said Mapeza.
Second half goals from Brian Muzondiwa and Winston Mhango, from the penalty spot, carried the day for the home side.
Hwange had done well to restrict the home side in the first half but it all went wrong for the visitors in the second half as Muzondiwa opened the scoring two minutes after the restart.
The FC Platinum man won possession on the left, dribbled past Andrew Chuma before powering a shot past goalkeeper Takabva Mawaya.
Mhango doubled the advantage after Allan Gahadzikwa was hacked down inside the box by a desperate David Boriwondo.
