FC Platinum congratulate Dynamos for scooping double

The Glamour Boys scooped a rare double when they lifted the Castle Lager Premiership title and the One Million Mbada Diamonds Cup.
DeMbare lifted the Mbada Diamonds Cup courtesy of a solitary goal scored by the ever lethal Rodrick Mutuma.
In their congratulatory message, FC Platinum also wished the Callisto Pasuwa-coached DeMbare success in their African safari next year where together with them they will be participating in the Caf Champions League tournament.

“Congratulations to Dynamos on their success in both the Castle Premier Soccer League and the Mbada Diamonds Cup. Best wishes in the 2012 Africa Champions League next season. Together let us fly the Zimbabwe flag high across Africa. Congratulations, Makorokoto, Amhlophe,” read the Moneybags’ message.
It is a first in the country that a club has openly congratulated its opponents for doing well in the league.

FC Platinum under the shrewd Rahman Gumbo led the race for the better part of the season and at one time were 13 points clear of Dynamos then under Lloyd Mutasa who was later fired.
However, after Mutasa was shown the exit door and in came Pasuwa, Dynamos performed what many still find hard to believe, sweeping anything that came their way and went on to win the country’s richest cup, the Mbada Diamonds Cup.

In the league, their destiny was confirmed when they shocked FC Platinum 1-0 in their own backyard at Mandava Stadium to leap to the top of the log standings.
Meanwhile, FC Platinum are set to play Highlanders in a friendly match at Mandava Stadium tomorrow as part of their early preparations for the African sojourn.

“I can confirm that we cleared a friendly match between FC Platinum and Highlanders set for Saturday at Mandava Stadium,” said Premier Soccer League chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele.
In an apparent confirmation that heads did indeed roll at Highlanders on Monday evening, Bosso will be under Siphatho Ncube and Mark Mathe, the Under-19 coaches.
