The Zvishavane side beat Zanaco 3-1 and Power Dynamos 3-0.
Mawere, who took over from Nathan Shoko in the off-season, said the team was moving in the right direction.
“I am happy that we are in the right direction for the forthcoming season,” said Mawere,
“The team is gelling well and we had not come here for victories but just to have practice matches in preparation for the 2013 season.
“Winning against the best teams in Zambia is a great thing but we have to work hard and produce positive results in Zimbabwe.
“Since gaining promotion in 2011 our target was to lift the league championship and nothing has changed.
“We still need the league crown in our display and we will continue fighting until we are crowned champions, especially this season, because we are going to challenge for honours.”
Mawere also wants a cordial working relationship with their neighbours Shabanie Mine.
Relations between the two clubs have been stormy in the past but Mawere wants the two teams to co-exist peacefully.
FC Platinum offloaded 13 players and signed five others with the rest of the crew coming from their junior structures.
Judging by the performance of the Zimbabwe Under-20 twins, Kelvin and Elvis Moyo in Zambia and the recalled duo of Nelson Maziwisa and Raymond Sibanda from Shabanie Mine, the team is set to be competitive this season.
Three Zambians – Frank Mlambo, Aaron Katebe and young Obi Chirwa who joined from Kongola Bullets – have joined FC Platinum and have eased into the team.
Zambian coach, Tennant Chilumba, is in charge and working together with his assistant Tendai Chikuni.
