Bulawayo’s prince of soul MJ Sings has been roped in as a supporting act for award-winning Afro-fusion songstress Feli Nandi’s highly anticipated Bulawayo show set for June 26, a development expected to add more excitement to an event that has already generated significant buzz among music lovers.

The show forms part of Feli Nandi’s nationwide Road to Fill Up HICC campaign, a tour that has seen her perform in several cities ahead of her ambitious Fill Up HICC concert scheduled for August.

The Bulawayo leg was added after fans from the city expressed disappointment over initially being left out of the tour itinerary.

MJ Sings, who has steadily built a reputation as one of Bulawayo’s great Afro Soul voices, said he was delighted to share the stage with one of Zimbabwe’s leading female musicians.

“Bulawayo, we have something special for you on the 26th of June with the one and only Feli Nandi. This is a great show not to be missed,” said MJ Sings.

When the Bulawayo show was first announced, Feli Nandi’s manager, Connie Mazani, described it as a response to the overwhelming demand from fans in the city.

“We have seen complaints from our fans in Bulawayo who also want to witness Feli Nandi live on stage. I want to assure them that Bulawayo is definitely on the cards.

“We are just finalising venue bookings as most places were already taken on our available dates. We are working on it and we can’t wait to be in the City of Kings,” said Mazani.

Known for hit songs such as Mubayei, Munhu Wangu, Mufudzi Wemombe and Unotyei, Feli Nandi has emerged as one of the country’s most sought-after live performers.

With MJ Sings now added to the line-up, expectations are high that the June 26 showcase will be one of the standout musical events in Bulawayo this winter.
