CHUCKIE “DJ Chucknosis” Kofi-Teye Ayisha, the brains behind Fiesta Fiesta, says this month’s edition will not be an ordinary show, but rather a big event.
South Africa’s reigning rap titans, Cassper Nyovest and Nasty C, will grace this upcoming fiesta as part of their ongoing African Tour.
The tour kicked off in August and will roll into Fiesta Fiesta on October 14 at Alex Sports Club.
This month’s edition is running under “Fill Up Alex Sports Club”.
“These are two major hip hop artists in Africa, for them to be coming to Zimbabwe for the first time at once, it’s a huge thing.
“This edition is not an ordinary fiesta but a big event.
“The idea for Fill Up Alex Sports Club was inspired by the fact that Cassper Nyovest has been filling stadiums in South Africa so, with him coming to Zimbabwe, we decided to call it that,” he said
For years, Fiesta Fiesta has only focused on the Amapiano genre but, this time, it decided to take the hip hop route.
“This is not a normal Fiesta Fiesta it’s a big event we are targeting anyone that is interested,”
The tour has seen the two SA heavyweights making a stop in some African countries including Botswana, Eswatini, Mozambique, Zambia, Kenya, and South Africa.
The African Throne tour is still yet to appear in Ghana, Nigeria, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Cote d’Ivoire and other African nations.
This will be the biggest tour on the hip-hop scene in Africa featuring two mavericks who are on a journey to showcase the richness of African hip-hop on a global stage.
Music revellers are preparing for an extraordinary hip-hop extravaganza as it will include some of the local artists.
Local acts set to perform on the day include Volts JT, Bling 4, Denimwoods, and OCD. ICEY EKXNE and SLYME FOXX.
The prices have been adjusted and music revellers will fork US$20, US$30, US$50 and US$100.
Fiesta Fiesta, which has been around for the past seven years, started as a DJ-based monthly event but, as their crowds grew bigger, organisers decided to start bringing in international artists.
It is one of the biggest monthly outdoor events in Zimbabwe and attracts thousands of patrons every edition.
