FIFA on Tuesday confirmed a record $1 billion prize pool for the expanded 32-team Club World Cup 2025™, with each African participant, including Egypt’s Ahly, set to receive $9,55 million in participation fees.
The tournament, to be held in the United States, will see the winners earn up to $125 million, combining performance bonuses and participation funds. The financial model includes a $475 million sporting performance pillar and a $525 million participation pillar.
Clubs will earn $2 million for each group-stage win and $1 million for a draw. Reaching the Round of 16 adds $7.5 million, quarter-finals $13,125 million, semi-finals $21 million, the final $30 million, and victory a further $40 million.
African teams will receive the same participation amount as clubs from Asia and Concacaf European clubs will earn between $12.81 million and $38,19 million, South American teams $15,21 million, and Oceania clubs $3,58 million.
Fifa said none of the tournament revenue will be retained, and all funds will be distributed to clubs. An additional $250 million solidarity fund will also support global club football. -Online
