THE five day FIFA Youth Football course hosted by the local football body at ita��s Zifa Village in Mount Hampden attracted 31 participants.
The course which started on Monday targeted ZIFA level one and two licence holders and FIFA Instructor Roy Millar from Northern Ireland conducted the course.
The 31 attendees (ABOVE) included former Highlanders players Gift Lunga (jnr) and Melusi a�?Mabalekaa�? Sibanda who are currently coaching Bossoa��s feeder sides.
Millar reportedly hailed Zifa for the efforts in youth football development.
a�?It is great for all football teams in this country to have registered youth football team and the use of CAF licences for coaches especially the youth coaching licenses. The most important thing is to put structures in place in developing grassroots football,a�?A� Millar was quoted as saying on the Zifa website.
He further highlighted the importance of football development and how the products can guarantee success.
a�?You must qualify and it must not be by design not by chance. Solid structures can bear reliable fruits consistent qualification to tournaments can be seen as this is a long term plan for football success,a�? he added
He also highlighted the importance of players in football development.
a�?Players are the most important ingredients to football success, coaches and administrators can follow, but success in football development starts with the players, so we need to develop them,a�? said Millar.

The course began on Monday and ends today (Friday).
