Figtree man jailed for aggravated indecent assault.

A 20-YEAR-OLD Figtree man was recently convicted and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment after facing one count of aggravated indecent assault charges.

According to a statement by the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), he appeared before the Western Commonage Magistrates’ Court in Bulawayo.

“On the 4th of August 2024 the complainant (12) who was herding goats and sheep in a nearby bush was approached by the accused person who was herding a bull in the same area,” reads the statement.

The NPAZ revealed that while in the bush the accused person came and grabbed the complainant’s hand and forced him to lie down.

“He removed the complainant’s clothes before having anal sexual intercourse with him,” said the NPAZ.

Afterwards, the complainant went and confided in his father about the offence, and a police report was made leading to the arrest of the accused person.
