The headquarters of ZAOGA Forward in Faith Ministries Church in Waterfalls, Harare, was on Monday this week gutted by fire. The cause of the inferno could not be ascertained at the time of going to print, but it was suspected that the fire could have been triggered by an electrical fault at the church’s headquarters, known as the Africa Multinational for Christ College (AMFCC).
No life was lost in the incident but property worth several thousands of dollars was destroyed.
College administrator Mr Brian Ngorima said investigations were still in progress and could not divulge neither the cause nor the cost of the damage.
“The inferno took place on Monday and two chalets with property worth thousands of dollars were destroyed. We are still assessing the magnitude of the fire damage,” he said.
“The Harare Fire Brigade is still investigating the cause of the fire but we suspect an electrical fault.”
ZAOGA secretary-general Dr Washington Rupapa did not want the story published fearing it would be blown out of proportion.
