GOSPEL outfit, Firm Faith, have consolidated their position as one of the most consistent acapella groups after launching their ninth album at 7 Arts Theatre.
Titled ‘Munesimba,’ the album should resonate well with every gospel music lover.
The Adventist group featured Peniel Tamba on the title track ‘Munesimba’ and ‘Munenyasha Jesu’.
In an interview, Firm Faith music director, Marshal Matsilele, said this is their best project in 20 years.
“Munesimba has songs that resonate with all our fans and not exclusively to Adventists only.
“We had people from all walks of life gracing our launch and that means a lot to us.
“And, to seal it all, this new project has quality music, insightful lyrics and we are excited to say we gave it our all in making it the best album since our formation,” said Matsilele.
Matsilele added:
“We were even shocked that some fans travelled all the way from Zambia, Lesotho and Namibia for the launch. I feel very humbled.”
South African musicians – Reality 7 and No Limits – also took turns to entertain fans at the event. Justin Gumbochuma, who was the guest of honour at the event, thanked the musical group for being good ambassadors of the Seventh Day Adventist church.
“This is a well-polished album and I want to thank Firm Faith for representing the Adventist church very well, these guys are playing their part in preaching the word of God through music.
“I’m glad that music fans from different religious and social affiliations are appreciating them,” said Gumbochuma.
Philosopher Josh Maponga added:
“I didn’t expect this and this was amazing. This was a well-written piece of work with a lot of hard work on it, which shows that they are committed to their musical career.”
