Five arrested for murder at church shrine

Three teenagers and two male adults have been arrested on allegations of killing a 27-year-old in Chiredzi, police have confirmed.

Two other suspects are reportedly on the run.

In a statement, police said: “The ZRP has arrested three male juveniles aged 15, 16 and 17, and two male adults aged 19 and 20 in connection with a murder case which occurred at Labamba Village, Mkwasine, Chiredzi, on January 14,” reads the statement posted on Twitter.

Circumstances are that the suspects attacked a man (27) at a Masowe church shrine over an unknown dispute.

One of the suspects stabbed the victim once under the left armpit with a sharp object, resulting in the death of the victim,” police said.
