FIVE players are dropping out of the Zimbabwe national cricket team today ahead of the start of the International Cricket Council 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier B in Bulawayo on Monday.

When the Chevrons assembled in the City of Kings last Wednesday, coach Dave Houghton took into camp 19 players, 14 for the tournament and five extras for training purposes.

The team officially gets into camp for the tournament today, which means Ainsley Ndlovu, Tanaka Chivanga, John Masara, Tony Munyonga and Clive Madande are finding their way home.

“We have got 19 guys but we are only allowed 14, so from Saturday five have to leave.

The ones I brought in as extras because I wanted them practicing in case of injury are John Masara from Mutare, Ainsley Ndlovu, Tanaka Chivanga, Tony Munyonga and Clive Madande.

At least they have been practicing, they go back to Harare and somebody will continue practicing with them,” Houghton said.
